A Beacon of Hope: The New Middle School in Mohra Jangu, AJK
In a remarkable stride toward inclusive education, the Chairman Muhammad Mustafa and the KHWT (Kasguma Health & Welfare Trust) team have achieved a significant milestone with the construction of a state-of-the-art middle school in Mohra Jangu, Kasguma, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). This pioneering institution is dedicated to providing quality education for disabled children up to the primary level, offering a co-educational environment for boys and girls. For senior students, the school offers continued education exclusively for girls, creating a safe and empowering space for young women to pursue their studies.
A Vision for Inclusive Education
The school’s mission is deeply rooted in the belief that every child, regardless of physical ability, deserves access to quality education. This new school stands as a testament to that vision, ensuring that children with disabilities are given the same opportunities as their peers. In a region where educational resources are often limited, this initiative is a much-needed beacon of hope.
A Modern, Purpose-Built Facility
The school is an impressive double-story, L-shaped building, carefully designed to cater to the unique needs of its students. With 14-15 spacious classrooms, the school provides a comfortable learning environment where children can thrive. The building also includes essential facilities such as offices, a library, and a kitchen, ensuring that both administrative and educational needs are met effectively.
The courtyard and playground, equipped with artificial grass and play apparatus, offer students a safe and enjoyable space to engage in physical activities. This is especially important for children with disabilities, as it promotes not only physical well-being but also social interaction and emotional development.
Commitment to Sustainability
In an era where energy sustainability is increasingly critical, the school’s modern solar power system is a forward-thinking feature that ensures an uninterrupted power supply. This green energy solution reflects the KHWT team’s commitment to sustainability and reducing the school’s carbon footprint. It also guarantees that students have a reliable source of energy, allowing them to focus on their studies without the disruption of power outages, which are common in the region.
Community Support and Generosity
The success of this project is not only due to the dedication of Chairman Muhammad Mustafa and the KHWT team but also the generosity of the local community. Two water coolers, donated by Mr. Faiz Qureshi of Sarai Alamghir, have been installed to provide students with clean and safe drinking water, addressing a basic yet crucial need for the well-being of the children.
Enhancing Access with Transportation
Recognising the challenges many families face in accessing education, the project has also extended to include a student pick-and-drop service. A minibus, operating as a school bus, ensures that students from nearby areas can attend school without the hurdle of transportation issues. This service is a lifeline for many children who might otherwise struggle to reach the school, further emphasising the inclusive nature of this initiative.
A Bright Future for Mohra Jangu
The establishment of this new middle school is more than just a construction project; it is a transformative development for the community of Mohra Jangu, Kasguma. By prioritising the needs of disabled children and providing a safe, modern, and inclusive learning environment, Chairman Muhammad Mustafa, the KHWT team, and the community supporters have set a new standard for education in the region.
This school not only represents a significant advancement in educational infrastructure but also stands as a symbol of hope, inclusion, and progress for the entire community. It is a shining example of what can be achieved when vision, compassion, and dedication come together to create lasting change.
